The casing is meticulously engineered to withstand the explosion pressure from internal detonations of explosive gas mixtures and effectively prevent the propagation of explosive products through the explosion-proof gap, thus ensuring the safety of the surrounding environment.
1. The structural integrity of the flameproof enclosure is paramount, designed to endure the explosion pressure generated by internal explosive mixtures. Considering usage and transportation conditions, specific regulations mandate the shell material for mine flameproof motor enclosures-constructed from either cast steel or steel plate welded structures. Exceptionally, hand-held electric tools like coal electric drills may utilize an aluminum alloy casing with magnesium content below 0.5%.
2. The flameproof joint surface is crucial for transmitting explosion pressure and flames to the external environment. It encompasses the joint surfaces where various parts of the flameproof enclosure meet. The minimum effective length, maximum clearance, and surface roughness of these joints are meticulously specified based on motor operating environment categories and levels. Generally, key flameproof joint surfaces include the seams between the casing and front and rear end covers, the end cover and bearing inner cover, the shaft hole of the bearing inner cover and the shaft, as well as the junction box seat and cover, among others.
3. Ensuring that the flameproof joint surface between the motor shaft and shaft hole does not produce friction under normal working conditions is essential for maintaining operational safety.
